Quip of the Day

"The truth shall set you free"

Without a doubt, the truth will always find a way to present itself to others. It is in our best interests to express what is morally correct at first knowledge. Otherwise, you shall face the consequences later on when you are discovered in a lie, a farce and cheat. It is better to discuss the truth on your terms rather then another's when they can mold much greater adversity to your respectability and character. Pure and simple, it is much better to tell the truth right off the back.

Dedicated to and inspired by illegal users of performance-enhancing drugs.

When One's Character Is Built

The times are bleak indeed
The cold bites bitterly
All is in discouragement
Despair and sadness
Every avenue exhausted
Pain exponentially grows
The losses mount higher
Wind chill factor negative
Precipitous disaster

These are also the times
When courage takes hold
Persistence pays off
The never die attitude
To try and try harder
Failure is not an option
Hold fast to the goals
Instilling the fight
Of one's moral compass

These are bleak times indeed
These are also the times
When one's character is built.

Forge Forward

Forge forward
The plans constructed
Deep in the mind
Put into action
Do what is right
Fight for the inner self
Beliefs formed fiercely
In the barren and solitude
Of darkened skies
And cloudy nights
Fear not the competition
The denials of your creativity
Show up to the ring
But not only that
Confidently deliver
The upsetting knockout

Forge forward
Always and forever
Others will deny
Your skills and aptitude
Theirs' is a blind distrust
Be not afraid
The path you seek
Through sharpened skills
And a hard work ethic
Goals will be attained
Atop the mountain
You shall valiantly stand

Forge forward.

To my utter disbelief

To my utter disbelief
As if I were in a movie
My life dramatized
I did not this see
The twists and turns
Through the narrows
This shock and awe
Is this a sign
An omen to come
Of events not yet here
Blind-sighted by misfortune
Thorough and concrete
Never before seen
A nightmarish dream
To my utter disbelief

Hero of the Day

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3372693

Byron Scott looks to be winning the NBA's Coach of the Year for guiding the young New Orleans Hornets into the playoffs with the 2nd best record in the Western Conference and sits ready to win a first round playoff. The Hornets have generally been a joke in the NBA and people have often wondered if Byron would last as coach of this team. Now we see the truth of the matter and the fact that stands firm is that Byron Scott is a good coach. He has persevered in New Orleans where the "loser" culture is daunting; we find now that he always knew what some of us fail to see. If one has the perseverance and the hardworking ethics to battle through immeasurable odds, they will overcome those odds; not only that, but they will likely win! Remember, Byron did take those New Jersey Nets, also a long-standing "loser" team to two NBA finals appearances. Do not count out the little guy out when he's down. Congratulations to Byron Scott and I look forward to enjoying the success of the New Orleans Hornets. This team brings uplifting style and spirit to the area once ravaged by Hurricane Katrina and that's what the citizens exactly need. Though the team fights against what a lot of people in the NBA thought were odds too unattainable, we see today that when your heart is focused upon a goal, we will accomplish that goal.

Never Ever Again

The course of my fate
Has been altered
Due to others' decisions
That certainly faltered

History turns a corner
The winds of change
The compass points north
Towards a new positive range

A dead end with false hopes
Was unduly reached
Forcefully set against
What was morally preached

Never again do I fall
Backward in confabulation
History is now surely altered
No reconsideration nor conciliation

Standards are assuredly set
New bylaw and requirement
No looking backward to the past
A new restructured firmament

This new course of action
Is now put into place
Due to disparaging disparities
Disrespectful to my face

Trust and honor
Was all I asked
Held in high regard
Was damnably thrashed

I call forward
In the halls of the just
A new resolution
Responsibility a must

I forge a new path
Through the darkened forest
Forever never looking back
This I shall mightily attest

Never again this way
Surely a change is due
You must have known
What was to ensue

Those unjust actions
Leads toward a new course
I am not the same
New proclamation to enforce

What is it you ask
What was back then
Shall unquestionably be
Certainly never ever again.

Rotten Apple

A bad apple
unruly and rotten
cannot be made true
should be forgotten

This bad apple
worms crawling about
must be left alone
nothing special to tout

It fell from the tree
not meant to be eaten
it chose to be devious
no need for the greetin'

Damn little apple
needs to be stepped upon
qualities of crap and trash
picked up at the curb at dawn

Continue to endear
the tactics of the rotten
you will too get sick
as well as be rotten

This forbidden fruit
needs to be left alone
to realize his illegitimacy
reaches to the core bone

Tend to his "whines"
you will definitely find
a trap was set
for you to be intertwined

Better to let the rotten
waste to the core
for true self renewal
a seed will newly bore

Then to eat the rotten apple
of cruel intentions
lose your true self
and fall into deceptions.

Dedicated to the rotten as they have fallen into deep despair due to their deception. I have always been sincere and true to the last drop, even putting myself before everybody else. I know I falter, but I own up to my mistakes like a "man." As a friend, you gain my full respect and trust, but if you ever sever those ties, especially in the corridors of the deceptive night, you must certainly leave my sight; forever lost is my unrequited loyalty to you. The foreseen consequences of your actions now comes to fruition. I have previously predicted this long ago, but the rotten ignore what is truth and now begins their downfall!

What Shall Come To Pass

What shall come to pass
Has reached the critical mass

Time to move on
Nothing to dwell upon

The ties that bind
Are no more, unkind

The doors of opportunity
No more it shall be

Believe me you may not
Taken lightly you will not

A firm decision
Has never reached revision

When I have left the scene
Never do I return to be seen

Time to go
The seed did not sow

I have come here but once
Never to look back an ounce

Time to jump ship
No return ticket for the trip

I am at fault
As it is also your fault

You pulled the final string
And that was my red alarm ring

I must go forward
Not to fall again backward

You made a decisive decision
Hurting me deep in divisive derision

And so I must make my cut
To get out of your stench and rut

What could have been
Now is never should have been

Your foul choices
Ignoring your inner voices

What a lack of mentality
Empty in maturity

Obviously you didn't care
What is naturally fair

My feelings tossed in the trash
Ripped up in a thrash

A pitiful defense of technicalities
Cannot quell the true realities

A trust is broken
A heart forsaken

What shall come to pass
Will come to pass.

Trust Defined

The ability to trust
Is a priceless gift
Given between one another
Not found at the price of a thrift

Trusting someone
A stranger at first glance
A partnership in business
Or love's penultimate dance

No matter the situation
Trust should be given
Freely and assuredly
For trust to be taken

It is like a seal of approval
A handshake at the table
An agreement that is bound
For us to be stable

We expect the other party
To catch our daunting fall
As such we also expect
To pick up their desperate call

Trust is like a bridge
The ties that bind
Over troubled waters
A rough diamond find

However if trust is ever broken
Shattered and destroyed
A battered bridge
Eventually is void

Connections are loose
Even disconnected
The untruthful truce
Results in war resurrected

Falsely brokered deals
Loosened and lost friendships
Destructive divorces
No more companionships

What is lost
Cannot be reclaimed
Too easily or swiftly
For a trust defamed

Thus easier to earn a trust
From the early get go
Then to earn it henceforth
After the final let go

Earning trust back
Is like trying to crawl out a pit
From six feet deep
Dead to the world you are illegit

Therefore trust is like a bond
It needs a treatment of royalty
Dare to break this covenant
You seek the loss of loyalty.

In the deep and dark

In the deep and dark
Where the spiders play
The shadow knows no bounds
A sleeping giant is to lay

I have tried many things
Bury the hatchet
In the crevasse of my mind
In the back of the closet

But it keeps agitating
Disturbing the peace
Like wild mongrel dogs
Blocking the door no release

The drama implodes
Over and over
I need much more luck
Than a four leaf clover

Then it dissipates
And I think it sleeps
Naps for a moment
With one eye it peeps

Unknown of the time
Surely it shall yet again yell
What I cannot escape
This destructive betrayal.

Thought of the Night

Would you gamble with the loyalty and respect of some of the closest friends and family around you with a divisive risk?

I tell you what. I would not because for me, my family and friends are a direct extension of who I am. If I risk their solidarity with me, then I'm risking myself. The only time, I would even come close to doing so is that I know for sure quite pragmatically that I was making a risk for absolutely and unquestionably the "right cause" despite the plausible losses. I would have to make sure such a decision would guarantee success without regret, that after that decision, my closest allies would eventually support me. Only in that case, would I even dare try such a brash gamble. I would not dare lose the confidence and trust of my family and friends. They come before me always because I give them my loyalty and respect. Call me odd, but I am not selfish in this individualistic society. I would rather torture myself then to sever the ties of my extension. This philosophical trait of mine is in direct relation to my upbringing and beliefs. I believe the first shall be last and the last shall be first as it is paraphrased in the Bible. I stoop below others and in return I earn the undeniable trust and sincere honesty of family and friends. For me, such an ideal is more important then a cowardly, selfish risk that would sever such ties. The question now is, would you take that risk?

Why?

Why?
Is the question
That perplexes my mind
To teach me perhaps a lesson

I do not understand
Nor comprehend
The damage caused
The pain I am condemned

Why?
Such a friend
That was a love
Would choose this trend

Choices have been made
Whether well thought out
Or Ill-mannered decided
To follow that route

I am confused
Devastated and destroyed
Sadness ensues
Is it time to be deployed

Why?
Technicalities acted on
Feelings misinterpreted
I feel like I was conned

Distrust
Reeks my mind
Overbearing and Overriding
Those feelings that were kind

The decisions were awful
The naive trail
The lack of knowledge
Has it doomed for us to fail

Is this the point
Never to return
That you seek
To make it firm

Why?
A multitude of questions
Race round and round in my head
What is the learned lesson

I surely am in disbelief
To predict the intention
But I know this much
Decidedly hurt is my convention

Some days I pretend
The pain is gone I confirm
Other days I'm no so confident
The knife is stuck firm

My heart hurts
Assuredly it is dazed
Sadness creeps and seeps inward
Confused, distraught and fazed

Why?
The question lurks in the mind
Did you choose such a direction
Of a road broken, dissented and unkind.

The Fairness Of Strife

I feel angered
Pain and frustration
Of the stupidity
Of this situation
A so-called friend
From behind the scenes
Acts like angel
Having the halo held up
By those despicable thorns
The funny thing is
Everybody knows the wrong
Life is quite fair
In terms of consequences
Of infamous actions
The barely veiled schemes
From behind the curtains
The lack of principle
The inability for morality
Hidden in your mischievous smile
Life is indeed fair
Everybody knows the stupidity
This so-called frienship
You shall get yours
In due time
Not by my recourse
I am too nice
What you have done
Payback will be a bitch
Of those hideous actions
The broken code of ethics
You will pay a heavy price
Karma is true
What goes 'round comes 'round
Full circle the perfect shape
Your history clearly shows
Your failings and dishonesty
Not from my own words mind you
But from your very own tongue
Your desire destroys you
I am agonized now
But shall not be for long
You shall falter
Loneliness will become you
The seeds you sow today
Are like the ones yesterday
Taken over by weeds
Inhibiting true growth
A person of ill-repute
Your lack of improvement
Will leave you empty
My friend that was
Life will be fair
As it was way back when
Your failings will continue
All your guns and stars
The articulate martial skill
Is all but a front
Of your soul-less nature
Everybody can see through
The mean heart within
Rumors have always swirled
Quietly observed from other's voices
Found to be of your true nature
You know nothing
Of what people view of you
You lack the art and skill
Of observational eyes
You know less of yourself
Then all of the people around you
Even ones that have met you only once
Hence your loneliness
Your lack of true friendship
The baggage you carry
Your insincere actions
Leads to your downfall
It has happened before
Therefore it can happen again
You are forewarned
By a friend that was
Your life must make a change
Though the damage is done
My pain I feel
The end is near
What a waste of brilliant mind
Your soul calls out for help
But you ignore its cry
The unwritten rule
You always wanted her
From day one
You shall deserve
What's coming to you
In the stupidity of
This despicable situation
Your weakness is
And shall always be
A hindrance for growth
You can only hurt me but once
Your actions will hurt you forever.

The Unkindest Cut of All

Hanging by a thread
A once bold friendship wilts
Lingers on its last binding tie
Ready for the unkindest cut of all

The pain caused
Irreparable consequences
Strikes at the heart
Damages through to the soul

Only a miracle now
Can put off
What karma has told
Of the unkindest cut of all

The foul decision
Resonates loud and clear
The door has been shut
Opportunity lost

The resulting pain
lasts forever
Of desecrate decisions
Intentional or not

The weary patience
Reaches its pinnacle
Surpassing a threshold
A probable point of no return

The unkindest cut of all
Is but a few moments away
Who knows how it will come
Almost certain to fall

Unwritten rules
Broken, shattered to pieces
The breakup is finalized
The aftermath resolute

It is dusk outside
The darkness deepens
The curtains will fall
On this sad night for all

What was thought to be
Now is irrational
Ill conceived in stupidity
Leads to one final conclusion

It is time to leave
Part ways absolutely
Ready for the finality
The unkindest cut of all.

The Fallout

Thus begins the end
The explosion is severe
No way to block or fend
Your worst fear

The situation has come
To a nuclear resolution
All the addition leads to this sum
Only one solution

And thus begins the end
I shall not fight
What I have left to tend
My welfare is now my fight

The chips were stacked
I must turn away
I was sacked
In dire need to get away

I have been naive
Never getting far
Never able to please
Now I must get far

However the consequences
Are far and wide
The mending of fences
Uncertain to confide

I am the first victim
Surely not the last
I may lose a limb
From this blast

But the fallout
With its collateral damage
Will be a messy fall out
No reputation to salvage

I predict this nuclear storm
Will encompass its victims whole
Losing the mind's form
And the heart's soul

With mine character intact
Ready to clear the debris
I rediscover the true tract
On my way I flee

And thus begins the end
The fallout ensues
I will be gone from this end
To another end anew

I can't guarantee the same
For others' plight
I am not the blame
They failed to see with their sight

Logic and reason
A premonition
Sees the foul liaison
The trap condition

I will not be caught in it
I shall return to my root
To where I'm better fit
As you give me the boot

The fallout shall ensue
That I can guarantee
The nuclear bomb blew
I have left already

Others did not see
What I saw in a dream
I will not be
A folly in other's eyes seen

It is a falling out
This destructive force
The nuclear fall out
Has set its course

All are affected
Backup Plan B
The pain is disconnected
The retreat is to be:

I shall disappear into the isolated parts of the mind,
discover the coldest parts of the soul,
barricade myself in this solitary and solemn shelter.
The beginning of the end
Is not only an ideal but a reality.
I will hibernate,
become numb and be asleep
as the fallout claims its victims.
To awake anew, afresh
and with strong conviction.
I will return to reclaim my sanity
and my savvy
as I move forward
not to look back
at the devastation
focusing my attention
to the delightfully bright sun
on this new day.

The Hidden Truth

Hidden from plain view
A plan is hatched
Rather clumsily and crude
Of the truth to be enclosed

Where do you hide it
How can it be covered
In a covert manner
Underneath and smothered

The best way
In keenest sense
Is to hide it in plain view
Seems to make sense

Under the pretense
Of the friendship so-called
Lies a deeper secret
Long ago discovered

But the truth
Will always shine through
Like a flashlight in the dark
I am no fool

The desires and wants
I see the conflicts
That haunt the night
Of ladened interests

What is hidden
Or thought that of
Is seen quite clearly
You cannot cover

These plans of deceit
Sooner or later
Will fall into misery
I've seen much sooner

The fact of the matter
Definitely transparent surely
Why you hide the truth
When I can see it purely

I see the fox's image
Under the sheep's wool
The dark spectacle
Under the shoe

All that is done
With the hiding
You are digging deeper
With the credibility sliding

The hidden truth
Needs no longer to lie
But needs the light of day
To soar your spirit high

The truth you hide
Will be set free
Whether or not
It is allowed voluntarily

Better to make conscious
The truth which was hidden
Otherwise bear the consequences
A heart on the brink of fission

The choice is yours
To set freely forth
Or disturbingly lay out
The hidden truth.

In a dream not long ago

Deep and silent
In the night sky
I fall asleep
Into a trance
Of realism
In a dream not long ago
Right outside my gate
Lies a sheep
Tightly snug
Against the brick wall
Surrounding my home
Day by day
I see it there
Sitting harmlessly
Staring with intent
Through the steel gate
I befriend this creature
That sits day after day
At my warm hearth
The odd thing is
Even though
The relations are friendly
Something quite odd
Nibbles at the mind
Why that concentrated gaze
Day after day
My premonition lights
Cautiously
As time flies by
Our interaction is cordial
The conversations neighborly
But
The prick in the mind
Sticks out like a sore thorn
Warnings lights
I perceive a problem
My spider senses tingle
Then one day I'm gone
Far far away
Then I return
To my surprise
I see the sheep
In my courtyard
However he's not a sheep
That I know from before
He has morphed
Into a dark lord
A bastard in disguise
The friend I thought
Has changed drastically
That conflicts my mind
A wolf emerges
From the costume
He once wore
So sneakily well
What am I to do
My home is in danger
By this monstrosity
So devilish and evil
Not to fear though
I am prepared
My premonitions
That irked my mind
Ever so clear
Caused me to call out
Loudly and boldly
"Release the hounds!"
My thoroughbred friends
Hidden within the house
Drove away that monster
That was once my friend
The interest he held
For my warm hearth
He ever so jealously held
Thought that he
Could just easily capture
But made a miscalculation
The lineage that I'm from
From my grandmother
To my mother
Passed on to me
I see it all clearly
In the darkest night
Like it was bright as day
My perceptions strongly convey
This black sheep always
Green with envy wanted
The house that I built
And all that it stands for
The wolf underestimated
That I always knew
Those darker deeper intentions
The observations he made
Weakly compare to what I saw
In the twinkle of his eye
In a dream not long ago

My premonitions
Leads me though a path
Uncut and unclear
But in the right direction
Nonetheless
Like a flashlight
In the darkest night
My perceptions see
What you hide
Like the light of day.

Trust

To trust a friend
is to take their word for it
no questions asked
due to past progress forward

To trust a family member
is to lend a hand
even though mistakes happen
the rules can bend

To trust a lover
means to go wholeheartedly
even to the depths of hell
and back to heavenly

To trust oneself
is an obvious joke
the mind plays tricks
and it will make you choke

To trust is to let go
all the misconceptions
to go forward in the dark
without protection

To trust another
takes guts of compromise
to be a target
for a possible demise

To trust someone
means forgoing one's standing
to take the leap forward
and eat the landing

I trust you
not myself
do you trust
yourself?

A Simple Truth

Forward looking
backward thinking
life is full of queries and questionings

Do we move toward this one way
or was it like yesterday
confusions clutter our day

What is truth and morals
our mind quarrels
frustrates us and un-furrows

In this disappointing life it seems
a light from heaven gleams
God sends joyous beams

Look to Him
within our hearts when times are grim
for guidance that sings sweet hymns

It is as simple as that
straightforward and straight out flat
God is the way, the truth, unmatched, just that

If we can do this one true thing
our confused, fustrated being
can be a better happier human being

Thank God
I love you God
Please be with me always God
