When I Was Young...

When I was young
I wanted to be in the city
Crowded places
Lots of faces

Dreamt of skyscrapers
And of busy streets
Cramped rooms
Days go vroom

It appeared to be full of life
It appeared to be dynamic
Loud music sounds
Opportunities abound

But as I grow older
City lights lost their charm
Life is stressed
Time compressed

I dream of the big sky
And plenty of country
Clear air
Less crowed affair

I want a starry night
Dynamic sounds of wildlife
Barren land
Opportunities grand.

What counts is the positive sum

You can't ever go back to before
Time changes too rapidly
Before you know, it soon approaches
Tomorrow is here now quickly

You're glad the the worse is gone
But at the same time previously
Gone also was the sense of bliss
Oh how time flies so mischievously

Yearning for joy in the ever present
Disparaging pain somehow seeps through
Present pleasure vanishes abruptly
Replaced with despair tinged in a dark hue

Indeed its a roller coaster journey
What dreams may not come
Journey forward nevertheless
What counts is the positive sum.

Who knew it was to be...

Who knew it was to be
The time was at a definite hand
A reckoning massive in display
Revealing an ordeal un-grand

The issues do remain
Troublesome disparity it'll be
A house laid waste ill-fame
In gruesome, macabre territory

Mud-slings and the dirt
Abhor the mirror-face
Prodding a need to cleanse
For mercy, penance and grace

The time is ever-present now
As it was in the persistent past
To brush the dirt off the shoulders
And raise a tall, devout mast

Reinvention beckons a will
Set sail to the North my friend
To let it it loose unabridged again
Maybe its intervention, a God-send

The sludge grudge may bellow
Fastening like murky quicksand
But it hasn't even a chance
To capture this feature brand

Always forward and more
Heartfelt gusto unforsaken
Onward ho to the promised land
A change in the making

And here we go my friend
Are you ready for the journey
Who knew it was to be
Revealing an unknown entity.

His eyes gaze out to the crowd.

Emotions ravage the landscape
Who could have known of this
It was predicted ages ago
Planned and rethought sincerely
Over and over again

The moment breaks loose
Chaos and its devious minions
Turn loose the shift in scenery
Effortlessly and with a thrust
The fire consumes the environs

In joyful cautious tones
Through the fire and definite fury
Silence seeps in through the cracks
The dark turns into bight lights
All pain clears the anxious room

The waiting period simply vanishes
Instantly back into its darkened corners
Like cracking a well-worn whip
A thunderous cry reverberates
Clapping vigor through the clouds

I could not believe mine own eyes
All glory be on High
Envisioned in numerous dreams
My world changes forever
Comfort soothes the heart and soul

Peace envelopes the crowded room
My calm demeanor returns
This day has been a courageous trial
Stormy seas now cease and desist
His eyes gaze out to the crowd.

The Dreams We Dream

The dreams we dream
Sometimes spark a drive
Such as in a light column beam
Egging us on to take a dive

Liftoff the countdown ends
We arrive at a new doorstep
A tree branch limb extends
Hope spurs from what we've kept

Exploring the new waterway
All caution to the waves
The wind calls us to play
To spelunking in the caves

The cost of opportunity
Is cast away by the wayside
All items are full of possibility
No rules need to abide

Delving deeper into the pools
A phantasmagorical world emerges
Monsters, angels, and even fools
An ethereal picture converges

A far reaching sound pings
Closer to the tower I climb
The audible sound now sings
An awe heavenly sublime

A message is scrawled
Upon a weather-worn scroll
The words etched and crawled
Beckoning my innermost soul

At this most basic elemental altar
Set aside in the darkest hour
A message is meant to halt the falter
Not to be stagnant and cower

It is time indeed
A thunderous clap bellows
The lighting strikes a feed
Zapping the lackluster fellow

Reinvigorated away from the darkness
Forthright in the beauty of this design
Breaking through incorrigible starkness
Drinking of the celebratory wine

The dreams we dream
Sets a positive emotion
The righteous path that we deem
Congruous for zealous devotion.

Tired of the bull-crap...

Tired of the bull-crap
Tired of the pain
Tired of the agony
It makes me insane

Frustrated at the stupidity
Frustrated at the anger
Frustrated at the idiot
Heading to danger

What am I to do
What am I to see
What am I to wonder
Others want to disagree

In circles I loop
In circles I group
In circles of dispute
I feel like a dupe

Ready to fight
Ready to gripe
Ready to give up
Not into the hype

Drowning in angst
Drowning in silence
Drowning in despair
Feeling a bit of malevolence

It is a travesty
It is a flabbergast
It is a stupefy
Just like an ass

Tired of the bull-crap
Tired of the pain
Tired of the agony
I just want to be sane.

Can You Be a Champion?

I am driven
Motivated to be the best
A champion
Fighting to the last
Hard-charging
Like a beast
I shall not be the least

Nothing shall stop me
My mind knows the plans
The heart drives the train
Blasting through roadblocks
Watch out
I might just catch you
In a sudden surprise.

Today is so yesterday...

Today is so yesterday
Tomorrow is fast approaching
No time to contemplate
The speed is scorching

Opening mine eyes
Ready to doze off
The cliff of fiscal responsibility
Makes one ready to jump off

Celebrations a-plenty
The losses are discouraging
The joys and the sorrows
Keep me a-whirling

The 31st is here
But just for a fleeting moment
The countdown begins
The 1st is speedily fervent

As the curtains close
And a door opens anew
Hope and anxiety arrive
I bid the past pains adieu

Time to make things happen
Plans are already set in motion
No recourse from the old
Full steam ahead is the notion

All that I ask
In this new year
Is to go a bit slower
Set in a steadier gear

Though somehow deep
Beneath my physical self
The soul knows better
What is to become of oneself

Today is so yesterday
Tomorrow is fast approaching
No time to contemplate
The speed is scorching.

The Fight Goes!

In need of a pick-me-up
Focused on the fight
Thinking in the dark
Of this downtrodden night

A path to fulfillment
The need to succeed
Time to ramp it up
Til my heart bleeds

Here I go
Passion it flows
The moment appears
The fight goes!

The Spark That Burns

The spark that burns
Eats me alive
I am consumed
To fight and strive

The time is now
Carpe diem
Seize the moment
Thoughts on a whim

The struggles within
In a barren wasteland
Are but nothing
Against my stand

The anger bursts
A ferocious growl
I am the predator
On the prowl

Inactivity
Can be no more
Rising up
Breaking  through the door

The opportunity is here
Locked and targeted
Aiming high
The mind accelerated

The spark that burns
Empowers me whole
I shoot for the stars
My lofty goal.

I know that I haven't been blogging, but the passion that burns now has returned and I hope to carry this flame as far as it can go. I hope you will join me and thank you for your support.

Trapped in a Flow

Trapped in a flow
Nowhere to go

What shall I do
Feel like fool

Against the current
A theme recurrent

My heart fervent
The mind dissonant

Stewing in my head
Confusion I tread

Need for a spark
For decisions landmark

Forced in a burrow
Creativity in furrow

Searching for the light
Inspiration's delight

Crying out a plea
Yearning to flee

Chastised to be quiet
The soul is a riot

Trapped in a flow
Somewhere I need to go.

The Infallible Pope

His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI The New Roman Catholic Pope 4/19/05.

It is time now to review this principle (as good as any), the thought that the pope is infallible. I'm not a theologian or an authority of the Catholic Church, but rather follower of the faith. As you may know, the Church is going through a rough period right now with the scandal that affects the priests and those in power within the Church, and how they have been
maliciously robbing the youth (to say it in a understated manner). I predict that the Church will get through this as they always have throughout history, but changes will and should be in store.

One of those changes I think need revision is the principle of infallibility of the pope. It has been obvious in my own opinion that popes have in the past strayed from the path of holiness, yet their authority and power is considered infallible as it is dictated by the teachings of the Church. We as citizens and servants of God must obey the pope for it is his duty given by God to shepherd us. We are led to believe that we are human and that is why we make mistakes to which I agree wholeheartedly. We need the guidance of a holy person to shepherd us toward the light.

I'm not saying the pope cannot guide us to the path toward heaven however. Rather, I would follow a holy pope if he was truthful, enlightened and saw God in everything he did (a core principle of the Catholic faith). Theoretically, that person would act in a righteous manner when given the opportunity to promote justice. It now seems that Pope Benedict in the past may have knowingly or inadvertently caused more harm in his leadership as Bishop and Cardinal Ratzinger, who in high positions of the Church acted in ways perceived as corrupt.

Even if he inadvertently caused harm to others, you would think that as Pope Benedict, he would be remorseful of those decisions. I would still follow him if he were humble and owned up to those mistakes. However, the principle of infallibility will not allow him to do so. In fact, he writes a scathing but justified letter to the Irish congregation about the abuses of the Church in Ireland, without mentioning the problems affecting the German Church which is odd considering his German origin and the abuses there. I assume that would put the pope too close to breaking the infallibility principle.

There are cries out there now in the world for the resignation of the pope. Still others are taking matters to their own hands by with lawsuits (which probably will fail due to the mere fact that heads of state are immune to prosecution). Others have given up and left the faith. What am I to do? Oddly has it may seem, I am still the keeper of the faith. I know we will ride out this storm, but the aftermath of this pain will bring new revisions to Church policy just like Luther and the Reformation did for the Church.

This time, I believe one of those revisions or issues should be the infallibility of the pope. I hope that Pope Benedict will be courageous enough to proclaim that he, like me, is not infallible and that we are all human. According to Catholic teaching, his decrees are like new policies and rules within the Church. The only difference is that he has the calling of God to which I hold in high regard. He can still lead, but current issues obviously affect his leadership. What is a shepherd to do when he abuses his sheep, leaving them out for the wolves to prey?

The Church will be saved. I have no doubt about it as it is an institution run by God, but those within this institution shall have their day of justice if abuses are not corrected. I pray that these changes come soon and swiftly.

____________________________________

I've been thinking about this issue for over several years now and I wanted to just bring them out into public view. I am a follower of the faith, but I believe the current situation in Church is dire and despicable. If these abuses continue to arise, a change shall surely happen and they should already be happening. The only issue then is, will the change be for the good or will this drastically affect the Church in a negative light? To that, I have no clear answer or opinion. It is at a breaking point and I wonder where the cards will fall.

May God help us all.

Disclaimer: This is an opinion of mine and has no bearing or authority on the teachings of the Church (even though I would like it to be taken into consideration). I have not the power to dictate policy or teachings within the Catholic Church.

My Fate

As the door creaks open
A monstrous figure appears
Dripping tears and sweat
Ferociously emitting fears

He growls fiercely loud
Terrifying the soul
Heat emanates from him
Blanketing the cold

The eyes seek you out
Mystifying in terror
He sees through the dark
Into the most inner

A blaze is lit
Engulfed is the room
I have no way out
Impending doom

I can see the hunger
The agony and pain within
Locked up in dormancy
Too long has it surely been

Rage fuels him
It shrouds the damp air
Encircled in flames
Affixed with a devious stare

A sudden movement
Is all it takes
One swift strike
And death seemingly makes

The ground quickly quivers
He has made his move
The thunderous quake
Like a hammered screw

I fall in grace
He devours the mold
An explosive transformation
Bends into the fold

Awakened from slumber
From the ashes pitiful
Flight takes its strong form
A phoenix in full

Morphed from the dreary
I have become him
In hunger and piercing pain
Filled to the bitter brim

I have returned
From the land of nether
Darting toward the goal
Of the dreams of better

Long it has been lost
Now I gather in powerful force
The passion and motivation
My flight takes it course

I shatter through the door
For opportunities embrace
Trailblazing through stubborn rock
Leaving a clear trace

My soul is lit with fire
The fervor resonates
I'm focused on my desires
I'll make my fate.

One

Even to the best of my ability
I can be quite so silly

In my thoughts and words
Dreaming of the birds

I cannot always correctly assume
What your mind expects me to presume

I am only human
With a decent acumen

I try and try so hard
Sometimes its not in the cards

To know what is
That is your "biz"

I am but a kind soul
Stuck in a rut of a hole

Connections you expect
My inquires you reject

Anguish stirs a dark pot
In the headlights I am caught

Knowing not the way
That you assume me to say

Lend me a helping hand
Fallen I am in quick-sand

Tell me your needs
So I can perform wondrous deeds

Keep it to yourself
In the burdening stealth

Assume the worse
An undeniable undesirable curse

Because I was left in the dark
Stuck in neutral in park

Communication is key
For us to be

So let it out
Open the floodgates spout

The bad, the good and ugly
For future's sake of snugly

Love is a fragile entity
A work in progress perpetually

Built on strong foundation
For a better formation

Times may be rough
But we shall be tough

Chores it may be at times
It shall end in melodic chimes

Nothing comes easy
In an unfair world of sleezy

Especially in the art of love
Its the hardest of all the above

Pain and frustration
Makes love a divine sensation

So two we must
Start to earn our trust

Break the inactive condition
For a better connection

Dust off the dirt
Time to push and exert

Plan and expand
Create a new brand

Alas communication is key
For us to grow to be

One.

A Yell Cries Out From Under

Beneath the smoke and rubble
Bricks fallen asunder
Glass shattered all over
A yell cries out from under

Drips of oozing blood
Drop down the forehead
Aching pain and bewilderment
Littered around with dread

This pain strikes deep
Like a destructive blast
Exploding with blunder
Is there life to even last?

The "rebels" fight fiercely
The gunships too in retaliation
At the heart of this matter
A two-state solution

Yet neither show civility
As civilians die and perish
Palestinians and Israelis alike
Life callously un-cherish

Extremism at the top notch
From the ground and air
The rocket attack unforeseen
As the innocent despair

Is this the Holy Land
Bloodshed and destruction
Hatred and distrust
God's plan and creation?

As the fight forges on
The suffering only multiplies
Exponentially within throughout
From out under a yell cries

Is there peace
A truce and resolution
Fixing the fracture
A conflict's ending conclusion?

Thousands of years of war
Hath not been able to solve
Time to meet at the table
The handshake of peaceful resolve

Urgently and make haste
This needed settlement
Otherwise face the wrath
Of hatred's accursed entitlement

Because beneath the broken
Destruction and despair
This child shall awake
How will he fair?

A yell cries out from under
The angry inferno must cease
For the future's sake
Settle the conflict in peace.

Let the Healing Begin

Let the healing begin
The pain that torched
Suffering through injury
Decisions wrongly coerced

The mirror did shatter
In numerous pieces indeed
Crying seemingly infinite
The sorrows of the ill deed

But change is in the air
A new calm fair breeze
Replaces the foul torrent
Of callous seeds to seize

A new light of day
Arises from the east
Signals a new tune
No less or least

Hold your head up
Confident exuberance
Peering not backward
Seek to self enhance

The bell tolls loudly
Rings in my ear
No time for mourning
Party time to cheer

I am renewed
A bright outlook ensues
Let the healing begin
From dark to lighter hues.

To make a mistake

It is human
To make a mistake
Falsely perceive
And wrongly partake

Now the question
Of utmost importance
Will you proceed humbly
Or recede in arrogance

The answer is simple
Yet hard to attempt
To change is the need
The mind is in contempt

To move surely
In the "right"
The pangs and angst
Growing pains fight

But if you stay stubborn
Stuck on a wall
Rock hardened heart
Inclined you are to fall

To work toward change
Seems mission impossible
Take it step by step
You will find it plausible

To make a mistake
Is to be human
But how you resolve it
Will improve your acumen

I am certainly human and prone to mistakes. Luckily, I am human because I have the ability to change and progress forward to enlightenment. Every day is a struggle, but if you have hope and desire to walk to the light, it may just be well worth it in the end. Be strong, confident as well as humble. What you seek may just be closer than first thought. Its not how we fall because we are destined to fall, but rather what we do after falling. That is what counts the most.

I Will Be The Face Of Change

I will be the face of change
A new voice of reason
The movement I seek
Yearns for a new season

I will be the face of change
Pushing for positivity
To fight the dreaded negative
Forging a new prosperity

I will be the face of change
Forming a new firmament
Building upon my foundation
Improving my environment

I will be the face of change
Reiterating the commonalities
De-construct the divisions
Fixate of friendlier principalities

I will be the face of change
Pass the past grievance
Leave behind the regrets
Forward advance progress

I will be the face of change
My fate turns a corner
A new light of optimism
A heart that beats warmer

I will be the face of change
It shall begin in the now
I am the face of change
It is my vow.
