Spark

In the dark
Looking dreadfully stark
Missing the mark
In need of a spark

Hark, the herald sings
Please fix my dings
And heal the stings
Carry me on thy wings

Bring forth much love
Yearning for the dove
For the one I dream of
My dearly belove

Shove away the weak
Destroy the bleak
Foster some technique
To break the barren streak

Speak to me
Full of glee
Clean the debris
Fly so high so free

One

Even to the best of my ability
I can be quite so silly

In my thoughts and words
Dreaming of the birds

I cannot always correctly assume
What your mind expects me to presume

I am only human
With a decent acumen

I try and try so hard
Sometimes its not in the cards

To know what is
That is your "biz"

I am but a kind soul
Stuck in a rut of a hole

Connections you expect
My inquires you reject

Anguish stirs a dark pot
In the headlights I am caught

Knowing not the way
That you assume me to say

Lend me a helping hand
Fallen I am in quick-sand

Tell me your needs
So I can perform wondrous deeds

Keep it to yourself
In the burdening stealth

Assume the worse
An undeniable undesirable curse

Because I was left in the dark
Stuck in neutral in park

Communication is key
For us to be

So let it out
Open the floodgates spout

The bad, the good and ugly
For future's sake of snugly

Love is a fragile entity
A work in progress perpetually

Built on strong foundation
For a better formation

Times may be rough
But we shall be tough

Chores it may be at times
It shall end in melodic chimes

Nothing comes easy
In an unfair world of sleezy

Especially in the art of love
Its the hardest of all the above

Pain and frustration
Makes love a divine sensation

So two we must
Start to earn our trust

Break the inactive condition
For a better connection

Dust off the dirt
Time to push and exert

Plan and expand
Create a new brand

Alas communication is key
For us to grow to be

One.

Lean, Mean, Green

This is the time
There is none other
Small is our confine
We should fight together

We should be lean
Reduce the trash
Keep it clean
And recycle that ash

We should be mean
Think aggressively
Keep our senses keen
For Earth's serenity

We should be green
Real is our strife
Change our scene
To better our life.

The Killer Instinct

It is that instinct
When the game is on the line
No time to think
Its your time to shine

The seconds tick
The engine revs up
Time to make it stick
And hang tough

I must shoot
Now and more often
Or I'll get the boot
I shall not soften

The blows must meet
Targeted exactly
Accept no defeat
As a matter of fact-ly

To give it your all
And leave it on the floor
I shall stand tall
And give 110% more

In that zone
I shall not conform
Nor shall be owned
I brew a storm

The ferocity does not stall
With a mighty thrust
I heave the ball
Without an ounce of fuss

It is that instinct
To close it out
That killer instinct
Without a doubt.

In dedication to Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Education and Innovation

What is education? What function does it play?

If you ask most people, education is the training one needs to foster the growth of the mind and nourishes us toward career goals. That to me is a short-sighted goal. Indeed, our minds needs growth and education shall help us reach our careers, but is that all? I would like to suggest that it should also provide us with the setting to be creative, to socialize and to learn morality.

Why?

If you look at the structure of our school system, one will soon realize that it is hierarchical in order. Math and science is king. Do not get me wrong, it is quite important for us to have math and science because it is the crux of our technological revolution, but it does not necessarily provide for creativity.

What then is to nurture our creativity?

It is the arts. The arts help us opens up the mind to new adventures and makes us think out of the box. This ability to visualize newer ideas and thoughts will help society grow in better places and foster the vitalization of society.

What shall we do?

We must change the social structure of school. I am not implying we de-emphasize math and science because it is still necessary, but we should bring on par the importance of the arts. I might even dare say it is the arts that will save our humanity and fix the problems we currently face. Innovation comes from minds that can think differently and creatively. The arts will nourish such a prospect.

Hunger

There is a yearning
A need and want
That is burning
Inside that flaunts

What shall I do
It growls and rolls
I haven't a clue
The innards bowl

It hits with a pang
Soundly and assuredly
Unbalanced I hang
Looking to hold firmly

I search the field
Looking left and right
For something that yields
Sustenance for the fight

Then the sound grows
Louder and in more pain
Try to shoulder the blows
Alas I cannot tame

The alarms have sounded
Whistles and bells
I have been hounded
Of signs so tell-tell

What are the signs
Odd and discouraging
That hits so unkind
Befalls me staggering?

Hunger.

Art and Poetry

What is art?
What is poetry?

Both are one and the same. An expression of personality and of beauty as the artisan sees it. It can take many forms, not only in writing. It conjures emotions and vivid images that last with you forever. With that said, please do enjoy the video below of art in the form of music:

The Sun

I know for sure
That you are there
High above
Always fair

Even when
The clouds dismay
Block the view
In dreary gray

I shall not be
Hopelessly dissuaded
I will wait
To be serenaded

With the birds
Your accompaniment
The songs they sing
A virtuous moment

The colors displayed
In pure unison
Brightly shown flowers
A sublime sensation

When you rise
I run and play
Jump freely
In awesome display

When you fall
Asleep in slumber
Too I dream
Of tomorrow's number

What sightly rays
The melodic measures
Will you bring
That I can treasure

Then here you are
Awake I am again
Certainly pleased
Of your choral refrain

Up I go
In delightful mood
You are the best
My spirits renewed.
