Pain, Torture, Agony

Pain, torture, agony
As I run through the alley

My calves burn
For a rest I yearn

But not now in the least
I must fight this beast

Face the music
Get my head into it

Forward I go
In my own unique flow

I am sold
On this journey's mold

I run and run
Sometimes it is no fun

But I must go
To reach what I know

My knees ache
Stronger I must them make

Take full control
From top to bottom sole

I cannot give up
Tough I am enough

To the finish line
I shall be sublime

Pain, torture, agony
To reach my destiny

Inspired by my tennis coach back in high school as our rallying cry during my sophomore year. It was my first year in tennis and I learned quite a bit from putting the effort in which led to our team's first playoff game in 15 years at the time. It was well worth it.
